Hustyn Mine Park, Cornwall

This extensive build in Cornwall was expertly completed by the ZincWest team, who topped off the high-quality structure with the installation of standing seam VMZinc coverings. The anthra zinc panels were meticulously hand-fabricated on-site to meet exacting specifications, while custom eaves and verge flashings provided a seamless finish and outstanding visual appeal.

Holy Baptist Church, Plymouth

Despite being only a few years old, the existing metal roof was severely deteriorated due to its previous poor installation. The ZincWest team stepped in to remove the failing covering and install a correct warm roof build-up, followed by a high-performance standing seam aluminium system from the PREFA Group. This comprehensive upgrade not only restores the building’s integrity but also delivers lasting protection and a sleek, modern finish.

Compass Point, Bude

The 188 year old building was moved 100m inland following the threat of coastal erosion, with the lookout tower rebuilt brick by brick. As part of the construction process, we installed a new standing seam, zinc roof covering to the structure, ensuring it remains protected from the coastal weather.Using VMZinc, our team hand-fabricated the installation onsite to ensure it met exact specifications, with all edge details and flashings, also formed using the material.

Melville Building, Royal William Yard, Plymouth

Royal William Yard is a destination steeped in history and considered to be one of the largest collections of Grade I listed buildings in Europe. As part of an extensive refurbishment, to bring its Melville building back into use, we were instructed to regenerate its copper standing seam roof. We removed and replaced its aged copper sheets, with extensive fabrication and hand-dressing required to meet the existing build style, which also included creating double-lock standing seams.

We were proud to play a role in bringing one of the region’s iconic structures back into use, creating a roof covering which isn’t only watertight, but also an architectural feature in its own right.

Trerulefoot, Cornwall

Installed to a new extension at a domestic property, these aluminium roof coverings were laid in continuous bays, and finished off with standing seam profiles. Using Prefa anthracite metal to achieve a standout modern finish, aluminium was also fabricated to form fascias and soffit coverings, as well as being dressed to the surrounds of the three rooflights.

Domestic Property, Plymouth

Undergoing extensive renovation and refurbishment, we installed natural zinc to the new outdoor kitchen, alongside matching cappings and trim to an expansive new pool house extension. The addition of standing seam profile ribs connects each area of the property, and the shine of the natural zinc will continue to develop and change colour over time, eventually developing into a deep patina.
